Bystronic Laser Error Code List – Quick Reference
B. CNC & Axis Drive Errors (Siemens / B&R Controllers)
If the bridge won't move, look here.
| Error Code | Description | Likely Cause | Immediate Fix | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | E-2015 | X-axis following error | Dirt on linear guides; excessive acceleration | Clean rack/pinion. Reduce cutting speed. | | E-2028 | Y-axis limit switch triggered | Overtravel or faulty proximity sensor | Manual jog away from limit. Check sensor wiring. | | W-2050 | Reference point lost | Battery voltage low on absolute encoder | Replace CNC backup battery. Remachine reference marks. | | E-2101 | Z-axis collision detected | Cutting head hit a raised slug or fixture | Power off. Manually retract Z-axis. Check nozzle for damage. | | E-2200 | Servo drive fault (HW) | Axis stalled. Brake not releasing. | Check 24V power supply to drive. Reset drive breaker. | bystronic laser error code list
Category C: Laser Source & Beam Path (Critical)
For Fiber lasers (ByStar Fiber, BySprint Fiber): Bystronic Laser Error Code List – Quick Reference B
| Error Code | Message | Likely Cause | Action | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | 4010 | Fiber module overtemperature | Chiller failure; dirty air filters; ambient temp >35°C. | Check chiller water level and flow. Clean external chiller condenser. | | 4025 | Back reflection detected | Highly reflective material (copper, brass) without protection. | Use anti-reflection mode in parameters. Reduce cutting speed. | | 4105 | Diode current limit reached | Aging pump diodes; power supply instability. | Log the time of occurrence. Schedule diode curve test. | Verify gas cylinders/regulators and main lines are open
For CO2 lasers (BySpeed, BySprint Classic):
| Error Code | Message | Action | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | 4520 | Resonator pressure out of range | Turbopump failing; gas mix incorrect. Do NOT run laser—call service. | | 4612 | Output coupler temperature high | Water flow blocked; dirty heat exchanger. |
5) Error: Protective Gas / Pressure Fault
- Meaning: Assist gas (oxygen, nitrogen, or auxiliary) pressure/flow out of spec.
- Immediate checks:
- Verify gas cylinders/regulators and main lines are open and configured.
- Confirm pressure on the controller matches setpoints.
- Deeper diagnostics:
- Inspect pressure sensors and solenoid valves.
- Check for leaks, clogged filters, or faulty regulators.
- Replace faulty pressure switches or solenoids.
