Preparation: Enter Service Mode
You cannot run the tool in normal mode. You must force the printer into Service Mode (Factory Mode) .
How to enter Service Mode (MG/TS series): canon service tool v3800
- Turn the printer off.
- Hold down the Stop/Resume button (red triangle inside a circle).
- While holding Stop/Resume, press and hold the Power button.
- Release the Stop/Resume button (keep holding Power).
- Press the Stop/Resume button twice (some models require 5 or 6 times).
- Release the Power button.
- The green Power LED will flash, then remain solid. The screen (if present) will remain blank or show a single "0". You are now in Service Mode.
Typical workflow
- Install Windows printer drivers for the target Canon model.
- Install the Canon Service Tool V3800 executable.
- Connect the printer via USB (recommended) and ensure it’s powered on.
