Q: I’m getting a "7-Zip: Data Error" when trying to extract. What do I do? A: That means your common.dat is irreparably corrupted. You must re-download the entire game (see Method 6).

Q: Will this fix affect my saved games? A: No. The filelist.xml is part of the game engine, not your save data. Your progress remains safe.

Q: I use a pirated copy. Does this fix work? A: The methods above (especially Method 1 and Method 3) will work on any version. However, crack files sometimes intentionally modify filelist.xml. Consider purchasing the game for the most stable experience.

Q: The error only happens when I try to play online/co-op. A: That points to a firewall issue. Allow FarCry4.exe and UplayService.exe through Windows Defender Firewall.

3. Delete the "Data_win32" FileList Cache (If Still Failing)

Sometimes the error persists even after verification due to a hidden cache conflict.

Navigate to:
\Far Cry 4\data_win32\
(Inside the main game folder)
Find a file named filelist.xml or FileListXML.txt (depending on version).
Delete it (don’t worry – verification will replace it).
Run verification again from Steam/Uplay.
