1.2 Founding Story

Hindilinks.Course was founded in 2021 by a trio of technologists and linguists—Ananya Mehra (CEO), Dr. Raghav Sinha (Chief Academic Officer), and Arjun Patel (CTO)—who met during a hackathon on “AI for regional languages.” Their vision: a platform that would (i) treat Hindi as a living, evolving language rather than a static textbook subject, (ii) leverage AI to personalize learning pathways, and (iii) foster a community of native speakers who could act as “language mentors.”

The initial seed funding of ₹2 crore (≈ US $260 k) came from an incubator supported by the Department of Science & Technology. Within 18 months the platform attracted 150 000 registered learners, prompting a Series A round of ₹30 crore (≈ US $3.9 m) from a consortium of ed‑tech investors.

These resources are now part of the National Digital Library of India, underscoring Hindilinks’ role in preserving intangible cultural heritage.
