Scene 2: The Lock-In – The Hive Mind
Original Context: Ellie is locked in and bangs on the door. Remake Vision: When Ellie is locked inside, the panic is immediate. She bangs on the door, but the sound changes. The acoustics shift from a hollow wooden thud to a wet, muffled slap. The walls begin to shift.
- The Horror: The "prison" is alive. The walls are lined with dried mud and papery combs. As the lights flicker, shadows on the walls move—not from external sources, but because the shadows are the insects. She isn't alone; she is being observed by thousands of facetted eyes.
- Sensory Element: The sound of her screaming is drowned out by the rising drone of wings. The silence of the prison is shattered by the volume of the swarm.
