Nanocad 5 License File (2027)
Guide: Creating and Managing a nanoCAD 5 License File
How Network License Files Work
Instead of a .lic file on each PC, the network administrator installs a NanoCAD License Manager on a Windows server. This server holds a single network.lic file that includes:
- The total number of concurrent seats (e.g., 10 users)
- The server’s MAC address
- A list of allowed client IP ranges (optional)
Each NanoCAD 5 workstation points to this server via the LM_TOOLS utility or an environment variable: Nanocad 5 License File
NANOCAD_LICENSE_FILE = 27000@YourServerName
5) Back up and version control
- Keep a copy of the license file and any license emails in an encrypted backup and offline location.
- Record server hostname, port, and license expiration date in a secure note.
- If using a license server, export the server configuration or document steps to reinstall.
3. Evaluation/Trial License File
These are temporary files (usually 30 or 45 days). They are functionally identical to a paid license file but contain a short validity period. No hardware locking is required for trials; they usually work on any machine until the date expires. Guide: Creating and Managing a nanoCAD 5 License
