Flashing with SP Flash Tool (MediaTek) — typical procedure

  1. Extract firmware and SP Flash Tool to folders with short paths (e.g., C:\SPFlash).
  2. Run SP Flash Tool as Administrator.
  3. Load scatter file: Click “Choose” next to “Scatter-loading File” and select the MTxxxx_scatter.txt from firmware.
  4. Select download mode:
    • “Download Only” — safest to update system without wiping userdata.
    • “Firmware Upgrade” — updates more partitions, can help cross-version updates.
    • “Format All + Download” — full wipe and reflash; avoid unless required.
  5. Click “Download” (or “Download Only”).
  6. Power off the phone. Remove battery if removable (the A57 battery is non-removable; keep powered off).
  7. Connect phone to PC via USB while holding necessary key if required (some devices auto-detect).
  8. SP Flash Tool should detect and start flashing; wait until a green tick confirms success.
  9. Disconnect and power on. First boot may take several minutes.
