The Updated Guide to Resetting the Epson L3150: Why, When, and How
If you own an Epson L3150 EcoTank printer, you’ve likely experienced its greatest strength—low-cost ink refills—and its most annoying quirk: the dreaded “Service Required” or “Ink Pad Counter” error. After months or years of faithful service, the printer suddenly locks up, flashing a message that it needs servicing. This is where an updated resetter tool becomes essential.

Why Does the Epson L3150 Need a Resetter?
Unlike older cartridge-based printers, the L3150 uses a tank system. However, it still has a hidden maintenance box (a waste ink pad) that absorbs excess ink during cleaning cycles. Epson programs the printer’s internal counter to stop working after a certain number of pages or cleanings—not because the printer is broken, but because the pad is theoretically full.
In reality, many users find the pad is only partially saturated. Using a resetter (also called an adjustment program or keygen) resets this counter to zero, allowing the printer to function again without sending it to an expensive service center.
