Date: October 26, 2023 Subject: Resolution of CD-ROM Detection Failure in Road Rash (Legacy Versions) Affected Software: Road Rash (1991) through Road Rash 3D (1998)

1. Fixing the "No CD-ROM found" error for Road Rash (PC)

This old game (1990s) often gives this error even if the CD is inserted, because: road rash no cd rom found

Solutions:

Road Rash can run entirely from HDD if you trick the CD check: It checks for a specific disc volume label

• Create a folder on your C: drive, e.g., C:\ROADRASH_CD
• Copy all files and folders from the original CD into that folder.
• Use a registry editor to point CDDrive=C:\ROADRASH_CD\
• Note: This breaks CD audio music. You will have race sounds (engine, crashes) but no soundtrack.
