Date: October 26, 2023 Subject: Resolution of CD-ROM Detection Failure in Road Rash (Legacy Versions) Affected Software: Road Rash (1991) through Road Rash 3D (1998)
1. Fixing the "No CD-ROM found" error for Road Rash (PC)
This old game (1990s) often gives this error even if the CD is inserted, because: road rash no cd rom found

- Windows 10/11 no longer supports SafeDisc or SecuROM DRM.
Solutions:
- Use a no‑CD crack (search for

- Navigate to the Compatibility tab.
- Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows XP (Service Pack 3).
- Check Run this program as an administrator.
- Click Apply and launch the game.
5. Copy All CD Contents to Hard Drive (Last Resort)
Road Rash can run entirely from HDD if you trick the CD check: It checks for a specific disc volume label
- Create a folder on your C: drive, e.g.,
C:\ROADRASH_CD - Copy all files and folders from the original CD into that folder.
- Use a registry editor to point
CDDrive=C:\ROADRASH_CD\ - Note: This breaks CD audio music. You will have race sounds (engine, crashes) but no soundtrack.
