Zlink: 3.9.27
What is ZLink?
ZLink is a pre-installed application found on many aftermarket Android-based car head units (from brands like Eonon, XTRONS, Joying, Podofo, etc.). It acts as a bridge to mirror your smartphone’s screen onto the car’s display. Think of it as an all-in-one alternative to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for head units that don't natively support them.
Version 3.9.27 is a stable, mid-2021/2022 era release, known for balancing features and compatibility. zlink 3.9.27
For Apple CarPlay
Wireless (Recommended):
- On head unit: Open ZLink → Select CarPlay mode.
- On iPhone: Enable Bluetooth + Wi-Fi.
- Go to iPhone Settings → General → CarPlay → Available Cars → Tap your head unit.
- Connection starts automatically. Keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ON.
Wired:
- Connect iPhone via USB cable to the head unit’s designated USB port (often labeled "Phone Link"). ZLink should auto-launch CarPlay.
Impact assessment
- Security: high — addresses input-parsing and redirect issues; prioritize upgrading.
- Performance: medium — meaningful improvements for large datasets; expected lower memory usage on imports.
- Compatibility: low-to-medium — connector/TLS changes may require small config updates.
- User-facing: low — most UX changes are minor and non-breaking.
