5) Build a sample multi‑tier application

Example: Simple VCL client + REST server backend. 🔒 Access via trusted community mirrors only SHA-256:

1. Server (RAD Server or custom WebBroker/REST):
   • New Project → Multi-device Application or REST Application.
   • Add a TRESTResource/Endpoint exposing JSON (GET /items).
   • Implement logic returning demo JSON.
   • Build and run as console or Windows Service on a port (e.g., 8080).
2. Client (VCL Forms App):
   • New VCL Forms Application.
   • Drop TRESTClient, TRESTRequest, TRESTResponse.
   • Configure TRESTClient.BaseURL = http://localhost:8080.
   • Set TRESTRequest.Resource = items and Method = GET.
   • OnButtonClick: call TRESTRequest.Execute; parse Response.JSONValue and display in a grid (TStringGrid or TDBGrid bound to a client dataset).
3. Data flow testing:
   • Run server, then run client, fetch and display data.
   • Use Postman or curl to test the API independently.
